Let’s say you want to come up with a great brand name for a new product you’re launching. You know what users are looking for, and you’re the creative type. What cool and catchy name you can give that to draw customer’s attention, but still identifies what your product is about.
So, with what I should start?
The first step is to identify what my game is about. My project is scavenger quiz game. I have started with creating a list of words that I have an association with the game I’m doing.
What’s the biggest naming mistake you could make? Very generic names like “King”, “Sweat” may not be a good choose. Or something difficult to spell and pronounce in some markets, like “Microgenocreating”. But the biggest mistake you could make — the worst possible name for your brand — is one that’s already in use for similar goods or services. So I did a research on existing similar games. This what I found.
I use few rules for choosing a name:
- Memorable. It needs to be easy to remember.
- Make it short. The fewer the number of words for the brand, the easier it is to be remembered.
- Make it unique. In other words, your brand name should stand out from the crowd.
- Make it easy to spell. Use familiar words or sounds.
The second step was to narrow it down to a few decent names.
And The last step is to find out which one is perfect.
